Collie project wins WA resilience award

A Collie Community Bank-sponsored program has put Collie in the spotlight once again for a positive reason.

Operation Next Gen ambassador Bec Woods and Advisory Committee member Julie Hillier joined Community Bank Chairperson & Shire President, Sarah Stanley, to accept the Resilient Australia Business Award on behalf of the Collie & Districts Community Bank Branch of the Bendigo Bank and the many individuals and organisations that contributed to the Operation Next Gen Collie program over two years.

Operation Next Gen Collie was able to demonstrate the value of community collaboration so this Award is something that everyone can be proud of.

The programย empowered 16 local leaders to lead a new conversation with new people in new places, impacting more than 1,015 people through workshops, community conversations, research, video resources and events.

Hundreds of thousands of people have been reached through social media and the efforts of the program’s Virtual Warriors on Google Maps.

ONG Collie is now an automatic entry in the National Awards to be announced later in the year.
